Funeral Director Assitants

AL

AL WATSON

Al has been part of the C. R. Gamble family for more than 20 years. Al and his wife Pat (former CEO of Almonte Country Haven) have 5 children. They are also grandparents. Al is a retired high school teacher and taught shop as well as other subjects. Al is also a qualified First Aid assistant and worked with the Almonte Ambulance Service for a while as well. It is nice to see the rap ore Al has with his former students as they visit our funeral home. Of-coarse, during his teaching career he came to know many parents as well. Since retiring Al has become quite involved in his hobby farm as well as his church. He also enjoys and is very proficient at woodworking and gardening.

Gordon Weir, Funeral Directors Assistant
Office Phone: 613-256-3313

Gordon is a retired police officer with the Ottawa Police Force.

He is a strong community minded person who enjoys the old time fiddle jamborees, R-Ving, dancing, step dancing (not to bad at it himself) and all the friendships made with such folk. Gord. enjoys people and is at his best when he is helping others. A quality that makes him a very strong asset with the Gamble family. Gord has been part of our funeral home staff since 1999. He is compassionate, caring and always more than willing to do whatever he can to help families during a difficult time. He knows most everyone in the area and they know him. If Gord doesn't know them, then you can be sure Marj does. Like Gord says .. "Marj knows everybody".

Gord and his wife Marj. (one of Almonte's finest nurses "Ret.") live in our community. A number of their children and grandchildren live here as well. This is home, Marj was born and raised here. Gord hails from Carleton Place (but we still like him).

Gord is one of the finest examples of local people helping local people in our community.

Ken

Ken Hawkins, Funeral Directors Assistant
Office Phone: 613-256-3313

Ken is a retired Ontario Provincial Police officer. He has been part of the staff of the C. R. Gamble Funeral Home since 2003. Ken is a hard working dependable guy who is always more than willing to assist families in any way he can. In his final years with the OPP he was a Public Relations and Media Officer with the force. Ken is actively involved in his community with the Lions Club and is in charge of the Christmas Basket campaign to assist those less fortunate at Christmas. He is also an avid curler, as a member of the Almonte Curling Club. Ken can also be seen supporting charities during the summer months at golf tournaments, although he readily admits, it's not one of his strong points.

Harold Hogg, Funeral Directors Assistant
Office Phone: 613-256-3313 collect

Harold is the newest member of the Gamble team. Following his retirement and after the sale of his Apple Auto Glass business, he joined the staff in 2007. Harold is a quiet, soft spoken individual who's sincere demeanor is recognizable from your very first meeting with him. In short, the easiest way to describe Harold is with 2 words, "he cares". When dealing with people at a very difficult time in their lives, that description, pretty well says it all.
Harold is another local lad who was born and raised on the family farm in Clayton. Harold knows most everyone.
Reg Gamble and his family have made a point of surrounding themselves with local staff, people the community know and can identify with. People who are comfortable being around friends they have known all their lives.
Harold is a welcome addition to the staff.
